First Full Weekend in Europe

This weekend has been so much fun. I actually feel like I'm getting the hang of getting around London now, I know how to get to most of the main roads and I took the tube for the first time this weekend and I know how to get around the different tube lines. We took a double decker bus tour this weekend both Saturday and today, our tickets were for 48 hours and they were "hop-on, hop off", so you could get off at different stops around London. We got off at a couple of different stops, the first one was at Covent Garden Market, which was so much fun, I bought some hot tea for 80pence and we watched this street entertainer that was hilarious and was really good on a unicycle haha. Covent Garden was really pretty.

After Covent Garden we got back off and had lunch and went inside St. Paul's Cathedral which was absolutely beautiful, I'm definitely going back at some point while I'm here.

After that, we walked over the Millenium Bridge (aka: the bridge from Harry Potter) towards the Tate Modern Art Museum (We didn't go inside, we're going there for class on thursday) and we walked over to the Globe Theater which was pretty cool and then we walked along the Thames River and caught the bus back to the flat.

We went to a sports pub to watch the Carolina/Georgia Tech game, which was a stressful game to watch (For anyone who didn't watch we lost by 1 point). It was one of my roommates 21st birthdays, so after we came back to the flat we had birthday cake and then we went out to a club for her birthday. It was one of the most interesting experiences of my life to say the least. The club was called "Fabric" and it was huge. There were 4 floors and at least 5 different dance floors and they played really intense techno music. I definitely felt like I was in Europe. It ended up being a lot of fun though, even though we didn't get home until really late.

Today we did the bus tour again, We got to see a lot of the parks in London including Hyde Park and Green Park and the other side of London that I haven't actually gotten to see yet.
Hyde Park :-)
Our 48 hour bus tour tickets also included a cruise on the Thames, so we did that when it started to get dark which was really cool because everything was all lit up. We went past the London Eye and Under the London Bridge and towards the Tower Bridge. We also got to go by Big Ben and Parliament as the sun was setting which was cool.

After that we took the tube back home and had some dinner and now I need to try and get some homework done. I don't have class tomorrow but we are going on a tour of the BBC in the morning so I need to get some rest! Hope everyone had a great weekend :-)
